Gert came into her own as a writer when she authored numerous columns for the local newspaper concerning “everyday life” in Brown County. She was also an adamant letter-to-the editor writer about local politics, religion and culture. She and Norman Vincent created and marketed the Granny Gert Recipe booklet and Old Wives Tales booklet. The "Sayin's" mostly speak for themselves, and the recipes certainly do. |
